Leonard Russell

Leonard Duane Russell was born on August 11, 1975 at 4:35 AM in Denver, Colorado to his parents Allen Russell, Sr. and Shirley Nelson Russell. He was born so early in the morning; yet, he always wondered why he could not sleep at night (ha ha). Leonard was raised surrounded by his brothers, Allen Jr., Eugene, Arlen, and Thomas, and his sisters, Cassandra, Charron, Essence, Brianna, and Alliene. They lovingly called him "Len." Leonard was educated in the Colorado and Oklahoma public schools systems. His mother wanted him to play a horn instrument, but Len chose the drums. Anyone who knew Len knew that he loved to live life his way. In 2013, Len was baptized in Christ and received salvation. He was passionate about helping the homeless, their well-being, and fulfilling that divine purpose. WELL DONE SON!! Well done. Leonard was the proud father of 3 beautiful children, Quinasia, Shawnice, and Rashaud. They will keep Len close to us. Len was a very loyal friend with a big heart. He was loved by all who knew him. Leonard enjoyed fishing in City Park, cooking, listening to music, and he was a devout Denver Bronco fan. An electrician by trade, he was the owner of Superman Janitorial Service working tirelessly to ensure excellence in his work. "Though it's a sad time for us, it's a glorious time for him. His struggle is over." He was preceded in death by his sister, Shavonne Russell; his paternal grandfather, Bennie Russell; paternal grandmother, Rosie Mae Johnson; maternal grandmother, Rosezelia Nelson, and other family members. Len departed this life on August 8, 2014 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish Leonard are his children, Quinasia, Shawnice, and Rashaud, his father, Allen Russell Sr.; his mother, Shirley Nelson; sisters, Cassandra, Charron, Essence, Brianna, and Alliene; his brothers Allen Jr., Eugene, Arlen, and Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
