Fernando Cedric Jones was born on May 7, 1957, in Gadsden, Alabama to his parents, Amzie Jones and Fannie E. Stevens Jones. He received his formal education in Alabama; graduating from Litchfield High School in 1974. On March 23, 1978, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class. Fernando was currently employed with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was a Supply Technician. He was hardworking, dedicated and a man who performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. He displayed an intimidating look but offered a big smile when face to face with others. A man of faith and belief in the Lord, Fernando was a member of New Nations Church of God In Christ serving under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Arthur Porter. Fernando was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled in his free time, he enjoyed watching sports on television and visiting with family and friends. He was a man who didn't mind lending a helping hand to others. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Fernando was to love him. Fernando Cedric Jones departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on March 8, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Jennifer L. Eidsvik of Denver; his sister, Anne L. Douthard of New York City, NY; his devoted niece, Lynette Turner of Aurora and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
