  2. Unk! Such a great Man of God, friend & mentor. What a joy to spend the years we shared. We’ll miss your light but rejoice in your homegoing! Until we meet again…….

  3. Pastor Russ, gonna miss stopping by ‘for a cup’ with you and Aunt Rose. Thanks for all you taught me and for your extraordinary leadership and love for family. Love you, man. See you in the morning.

  4. God Bless and keep and hold Bishop Porter and family in the hollow of his holy hand in this time of bereavement. Rev. Dr. Porter Sr. was a good man that loved the lord and will be greatly missed. He came to Bethel several times to worship with us and we enjoyed him. He’s gone from labor to reward. Rest in Peace Preacher.

  6. It saddens my heart to here of your moving on to be with our Heavenly Father, your remarkable wife Rose and the ancestors before us but I have come to terms that this life is short and what we do with this life is important. You’ve blessed me in ways that you may not know. You gave such a tremendous Christian light, love and support throughout many years through not only your words but through your actions. I can remember when my mother, Garnet D. Halfacre, Would be so inspired by your teachings that she loved to dive deeper into the word and felt motivated to teach morning bible study. I remember one specific sermon that was given to the high school graduates of 1994, it was called “Believe, have faith, and act on it”. This message propelled my life forward like a rocket; foundational pillars that have kept me grounded and steadfast in all facets of my life. I remember Here’s Love Christian Fellowship and all of the wonderful things done for the community and it’s membership under your leadership. Although I moved around the world I never forgot the Porter Family and all the great memories we had from playing The drums and singing in the choir, running track as the “Pacesetters”, The sky’s the limit summer camp, and so many countless other activities inside and outside the church. My prayers are to your loving family members that you leave here on earth as they will miss you and continue to revere you as much as I do. You certainly are in heaven and hopefully we meet again. Rest in Power Paster!

  7. To my dear Sister Rhonda. Just want to offer my condolence on the home-going of your Beloved father, Rev. Dr. Russell M. Porter, Sr. I pray you are surrounded by friends and family who love you and your family.

  8. The Entire Redeeming Love Fellowship Church , Bishop and Lady Nichols express our deepest Condolences to the Dr. Russel Porter family doing this their time of bereavement, we have known this Pastor and family for many years and we grieve with you in the loss of your Father, brother, uncle, grandfather, community leader, etc the words that we have are from the words of God, that say “Earth have no sorrows that Heaven cannot Heal” this time of weeping may endure for a night but Joy is coming in the Morning Light, may the Comfort that only God can give wrap you in his arms with his Love

  9. Mrs. Rhonda, I would like to send my condolences and prayers to you and your family. May God bless you all with the strength to get passed these times. As well as may he guide your father into a peaceful transition to be reunited with his wife.
