Benjamin Franklin Johnson was born on January 25, 1950, in Jackson, Mississippi to his parents, Frank Johnson and Mae Bell Jones Johnson. He was raised surrounded by nine siblings which included seven sisters and two brothers.

Ben received his early education in Indiana by graduating from La Porte High School in 1969. In 1970, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. While serving his country, he was awarded an National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, he earned an Overseas Bar, Expert Hand Grenade Medal, and an SPS for the M-16. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged.

On February 24, 1998, Ben married the former, Aura N. Enciso. Aura fondly remembers, he taking her to a Filipino restaurant and bragging to everyone that they were married. To this union, three beautiful children were born a son, Ian and twin daughters, Angelica and Annlorena. He was a loving and devoted husband and father whose took great pride and joy in the care and nurture of his family.

By profession, Ben was employed as a Truck Driver. He truly enjoyed all the traveling and the many places he was able to see while working. He performed his duties with a spirit of excellence.

Ben was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed the many happy and precious moments spent with family and friends. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Ben was to love him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mae Bell Johnson; a sister, Carol Clemons; a brother in law, Sid Clemons; and a niece, Andrea Clemons.

Benjamin Franklin Johnson departed this life on June 22, 2019, in his home in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his loving and devoted wife, Aura N. Johnson; his son, Ian N. Johnson; twin daughters, Angelica N. Johnson and Annlorena N. Johnson all of Aurora, Colorado; 2 brothers, Steve Johnson of Michigan City, Indiana and Anthony G. Johnson of La Porte, Indiana; 6 sisters, Jacqueline (Fred) Adkins of La Porte, Indiana, Jennifer Johnson of Aurora, Colorado, Eileen G. Johnson of La Porte, Indiana, Elaine G. Johnson, Cynthia Mayo both of Denver, Colorado and Crystal P. (Nicholas) Harmon of La Porte, Indiana; 8 nephews; 4 nieces; and a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
